On the way to Sajjangad and Thosegar falls you have pass a small tunnel (bogda as the locals call it)

Climb to Sajjangad starts...

There must be some 90 steps not very steep ... it's an easy climb up took us approx 40 minutes... with halts for clicking pix.

The views are very nice and pleasing to look as is the greenery which is lush this time of the year (Oct.2023)

Sajjangad (Marathi: सज्जनगड), meaning "Fort of Good People", is located near the city of Satara, India. It is the final resting place of Sant Ramdas in 18th century India (born 1608)

This fort was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 2 April 1673 from Adilshah. Previously known as Parali, it was renamed Sajjangad. it came into possession of the Mughals in 1700, and was renamed . as Navrous tara. The fort was recaptured within years by the Marathas. It remained in Maratha hands until the demise of the Maratha empire by the British in 1818.

In the afternoon and at night, devotees are served free of cost food (Prasad) by shri samarth seva mandal sajjangad and sansthan.

The trust that has been in exsistance for a very long time maintains the area and also provides free of cost accommodation for devotees who wish to stay overnight on the fort. Every year during Shiv Jayanti thousands of devotees visit the shrine by walking up to it.

Thoseghar falls ...
On our walk it was surrounded by youngsters and so we also took a quick look to see what it was...
Its eyes are somewhere below the false eyes to scare off predators we were told
the eyes are FAKE ! On our walk to the Thosegar falls

The rainwater falling on the mountain ranges at Kaas plateau, Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani hillsgets collected in the Thoseghar Waterfall and further originates as Tarlee River. Many ancient temples and historical places are situated around the waterfalls.
Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western India.

First view
The waterfall is located at an altitude of around 1,500 feet above sea level and is fed by the river Mhaisal.

Being the most popular waterfall, it is one of the highest falls in India, and also the most visited fall in Maharashtra
