Mumbai to Nagpur... via the 3 mth.old Samrudhi highway...
5th May 2023... Planned to leave Mumbai at 5am but couldn't... There was a delay by an hr.
If you plan to reach within the day then 5 am would hv been an ideal time...
Anyways learning from my mis calculations as forgot to take into ac petrol halts and breakfast halt... Lunch we had carried thepla, fruits and salad so no halt needed.
Kasara ghat was congested with a few trucks that had break downs and some majore construction work was going on.
On reaching Ghoti we halted for poha and coffee...
A new route for us...
Then took the diversion to Shirdi for the Samrudhi highway but were told to drive all the way to Shirdi and then take the Samrudhi highway as the junction we wanted to join in from wasn't innagurated yet...so that was a 2 hr.set back...
Point to note before you take the Samrudhi highway to Nagpur you must tank up as no facilities or petrol pumps for nearly 220 kms.
Speed limits for cars is 120... You have the whole road to yourself so mileages go for a toss... Next petrol pump was available after another 200 kms I think...
Would strongly suggest to avoid night driving as yet ... as exits have lamp posts but the highway had lamp posts after a distance of 1 km.
The total time taken from Versova (Mumbai) to Nagpur parsee Dharamshalla with 2 halts...
13 hrs.20 minutes
Note ... pl.tank up at every opportunity on this highway.
Thanks for all the super info. V useful to all travellers ! Have a safe trip ahead.
