Bandipur to Cable car station for Manakamana temple
The roads are terribly bad un tarred, dusty, muddy with trenches in some places ...work is going on at some stretches too but overall you need 3 hrs to complete a 50 km.distance... that's how bad the rds.are.
At 5.45 pm we decided to view the sun set from temple site and to our delight there were no crowds and we were allowed into the sacred sanctum area...
That is my exact route fm.Bandipur hotel where we stayed for 2 nights
tanking up before the drive to Manakamana cable car stn. Where they have the facility of a secured car park and you can leave the car over night and stay at Manakamana which turned out to be a great idea...
was dis appointed to get a very un ruely crowd that doesn't follow rules of queuing up... the security had to be summoned.
Cocks are also sacrificed here was informed by locals
the waiting time to get into the sanctum area was 3hrs. So we decided against waiting ... we did our Darshan from outside and left.
At 5.45 pm we decided to view the sun set from temple site and to our delight there were no crowds and we were allowed into the sacred sanctum area...
In the temple the deities are called Swayambhoo meaning they appeared on their own...
