Gir and SomNathJi touring

Its a long day and long drive from Junagadh to Somnath via Gir...
Early morning started by 8 am for Gir went for the Lion safari organised by the government of Gujarat at Devaliya (Sasan Gir) ...
Our ticket
the first view was the vulture
then saw deers in hoards
Neelgai with birds
Madam lazing around
Sirji basking in the sun...
Deep in the forrest of Gir... A waterfall...

Local sweets ...being made from boiling milk...
Time to move on after some deliscious local elaichi flavored choi...
Have to get a pass made to enter Gir forrest with a local guide...
Wouldn't advice anyone to go without a guide as the pathways are a maze and look all the same to a novice...
Mobile networks dont really work too inside the forrest area.
Our passes
Bold one ...was expecting food from us
Peacock
Next stop again within the forrest Kankai maa temple... (Laxmi avatar I was informed)
Little birdy bowing down to the deity
and ready to fly away...
and here is another patient animal waiting for scraps
Time to drive out of the forrest...
many such lakes to cross over... My car did it well... Had an incident at Chandratal lake so was apprehensive this time...
I was told by our guide we can have a meal at this ashram but I declined as was keen to reach Somnath...
Which I did with a quick halt at๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ
Dont miss ...they have 240 ways of serving you our humble little protein booster...
Day 2...
SomNathJi

Good morning world...
Ready to roll...
local bhajiyas made out of gram flour
Triveni Sangam ghat
SeaGulls being fed grains
Temple over 5k yrs old
Swayambhoo Shivling... Means it appeared all by itself... At the sea side... Which the authorities and local people would do a better job with hygiene and clean ups.
At Somnath temple no pix allowed had to surrender phones, car keys etc (no electronics allowed) they frisk you twice.

Next halt in Diu...
Will keep you all updated...

Looking forward to interacting with my readers...
