Hubby no.1 and his awsommm driver...

16th.Dec.2022...
Hubby no.1 and his awsomm driver started fm.Mumbai at 9am for Vadodara...

Just after Gandevi was our first jam that lasted close to an hour...

No traffic policeman to sort out the jam... Which is due to work being carried out on that road.

Our first halt since leaving Mumbai was 4 kms.after Navsari...

The place is clean and decent and food was nice ...No complaints... Happy tummies...Happy people !


Dont be tricked by the clear skies of Navsari...soon after this click it poured with thundering and lightening between Navsari and Surat...
And...
To top it all we got stuck in a majore traffic jam for the 2nd.time and lost good daylight driving time...

That is jam no.2 with drivers with absolutely no road etiquettes ... Need to keep tremendous patience with them.

Our destination for tonight is Vadodara Parsee Dharamshalla in Fatehganj...
The pix below are of that place...

We were served a delicious hot meal by the manager who has been here serving at the Dharamshalla for the past 43 yrs... (1st Oct.1980)

Tomorrow before we leave we will visit our Fire Temple and move towards Pattan to visit the Sun Temple, Rani ki vaav etc.

We reached Vadodara at 8pm... And what I saw of the city it is worth giving it more time to explore.

Bhuj Agiary and Jamnagar agiary

Visited Bhuj and Jamnagar Agiaries now non operational...  Due to lack of worshippers... I was told only 1 family in Bhuj is looking after the place and they stay in Ahmedabad... Bhuj agiary premise is well looked after by Mr.Abu Bakar... Whereas in Jamnagar there are 5 families and all are mostly senior citizens The Jamnagar Agiary is looked after by Mr.Sarosh Daruwalla as care taker of the premise and Mr.Wadia the trustee. Bhavnagar Agiary (now a Dadgah)

Started at 11 from Chotila to go to Hingolgadh... To our bad luck it was shut Then we decided to take the RoRo boat to Hazira...Surat It was along drive...cutting through the landscape... In between decided must visit Bhavnagar agiary (now a Dadgah) So located it on google and met the care taker who has been looking after the place for last 21 years... (Have his no.in case any Zarthosti wants to visit) The last Dasturjee passed on in year 1992/93... So now its a Dadgah and all Zarthostis can enter within... My impression of the premise was it needs to be maintained as it is crumbling... Its nearly a 130 year old structure... The Dharamshalla and Community hall adjacent to Agiary too are in a bad shape. I was informed that there are merely a dozen families or 30 to 35 parsees currently in Bhavnagar. First glimpse of the fire temple The well The care taker for past 21 years ...
