Bangalore Blogging ... (Days 1 to 11)

My 3rd.article as 2nd one vanished just as I was just about to complete the draft...

Bangalore darshan started with bestie's sister as bestie is under 2 blankets ...
Change in weather has changed my bestie's dispostion... Temporarily.

Started our B'lore darshan and.11.30 am ...took us 50 minutes to reach Tipu Sultan's palace in the city... Traffic in B'lore is worse than Mumbai... Will call it un organised... For eg.Where the rd.was clear in the morning gets closed in evening for reasons best known to the authorities...

Since ppl who know me and my sense of direction should know that I feel like a headless chicken in B'lore... I drive to the destinations and back home under supervision...

So coming back to the blog ...its gng to be a picture story this time...

Day 1 (evening...arrival Bangalore)
We arrived here on Divali day (24th.Oct.2022) by evening 5.50pm and lit some diyas

Day 2...
Next day morning visited B'lore fire temple...

Dharamshalla for Parsees only... That's the rate card.

In B'lore close to home found an awsommmmm tea shop and the surprising thing was that like Mumbai there are many many tea shops serving many different flavored teas and will make it the way one wants it...

Ulsoor lake

Cubbon Park... Its not like the parks we hv in Mumbai... Here in Cubbon park the rds. are used by cars as a proper by pass road

The iconic B'lore club... Acres of well looked after lands and properties.

That was our lunch menu that day and it was quite the experience...

Rickshaw ride to visit Mantri mall which can be entered through the metro stn.

After a 25 mint.ride on the metro it got us into the mall.

and its Pumpkin time...Halloween in B'lore...
Next 4 days we hv yummy pumpkin on the menu...

Lunch at Go Native...was very traditional, flavourful and wholesome.

Attended an in house concert in the colony where we are staying... on 1st Nov. Which is celebrated like Karnataka day ...an Utsav (festivity)

All home made and delicious foods...

Day 11 Overcast skies of B'lore...

So its a wrap for now ...

Will share Tipu Sultan's palace and fort pix etc.in my next post...

Bhuj Agiary and Jamnagar agiary

Visited Bhuj and Jamnagar Agiaries now non operational...  Due to lack of worshippers... I was told only 1 family in Bhuj is looking after the place and they stay in Ahmedabad... Bhuj agiary premise is well looked after by Mr.Abu Bakar... Whereas in Jamnagar there are 5 families and all are mostly senior citizens The Jamnagar Agiary is looked after by Mr.Sarosh Daruwalla as care taker of the premise and Mr.Wadia the trustee. Also was shown the insides of Bhuj house too... Below are some of my pix of Bhuj house The parsee jailor of Bhuj with his sons Below are some of my pix of the Bhuj Agiary that was... Bhavnagar Agiary (now a Dadgah)

Started at 11 from Chotila to go to Hingolgadh... To our bad luck it was shut Then we decided to take the RoRo boat to Hazira...Surat It was along drive...cutting through the landscape... In between decided must visit Bhavnagar agiary (now a Dadgah) So located it on google and met the care taker who has been looking after the place for last 21 years... (Have his no.in case any Zarthosti wants to visit) The last Dasturjee passed on in year 1992/93... So now its a Dadgah and all Zarthostis can enter within... My impression of the premise was it needs to be maintained as it is crumbling... Its nearly a 130 year old structure... The Dharamshalla and Community hall adjacent to Agiary too are in a bad shape. I was informed that there are merely a dozen families or 30 to 35 parsees currently in Bhavnagar. First glimpse of the fire temple The well The care taker for past 21 years ...
